Maxillofacial Surgery
All operations such as impacted wisdom teeth, jaw cysts, and advanced implant surgery are performed painlessly and comfortably by our expert physicians accompanied by 3D Tomography.
What is Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery?
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the specialty branch that covers the diagnosis and surgical treatment of all kinds of diseases, cysts, and tumors of all soft tissues (gums, palate, tongue, etc.) and hard tissues (teeth, jawbones) in the mouth.
Not only tooth extraction; increasing the bone tissue that is insufficient for implant treatments (bone graft), elevating the sinus cavities (sinus lifting), and jaw joint disorders are also the expertise of this department. All procedures are performed under maximum sterilization and completely painlessly.
Surgical Procedures Performed in Our Clinic
- Impacted Tooth Operations: Extraction of wisdom teeth and canine teeth embedded in the jawbone.
- Apical Resection: Surgical cleaning and saving of the root tips of teeth with cysts formed at the root tip.
- Sinus Lifting & Bone Graft: Increasing the volume of the jawbone, which is insufficient for the implant, by adding bone powder.
- Cyst and Tumor Surgery: Removal of cysts formed in the jawbones or soft tissues with pathological examination.
Surgical Operation Process
Millimetric Diagnosis with 3D Tomography
Before every surgical procedure, your jaw structure is examined in 3D with the 3D Volumetric Tomography devices in our clinics. The locations of nerves and vessels are determined millimetrically, and the operation is planned with zero errors.
Painless Surgical Intervention
The procedure is performed completely painlessly by our expert maxillofacial surgeons accompanied by strong local anesthetics. We also have a sedation (sleep state) option for our patients with extreme fear.
Healing and Control
Post-operative swelling/pain is minimized with the medications prescribed by our doctor and the ice compress you will apply. Your healing process is usually completed by removing your stitches after 1 week.

Things you might wonder about maxillofacial surgery and wisdom tooth extractions.
Do wisdom teeth absolutely need to be extracted?
If there is enough space in the jaw arch and the tooth has erupted healthily, it does not need to be extracted. However, if there is no space in the jaw, if it remains fully or partially impacted, if it causes pain, abscess, and crowding by pushing the teeth in front, it must be surgically extracted.
Are maxillofacial surgery operations painful?
No. All surgical procedures are performed by our expert physicians by completely numbing the area to be treated (local anesthesia). You will not feel any pain or ache during the operation; there may only be a sensation of touch and pressure.
What is sinus lifting and bone grafting?
When an implant is planned for the upper jaw posterior regions, the anatomical sinus cavities in that area may have sagged downwards. In order to provide sufficient bone volume for the implant to be placed, the sinus membrane is surgically pushed upwards, and bone graft is added to the formed space to create a new and solid bone tissue.
